Terms of use
Updated 14 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses IlhaGo: visitors looking for experiences and the local businesses that list them (see the section for providers below).
1. Who we are
IlhaGo is operated by Diogo Sousa, NIF 253833566, Caminho Municipal Ti Clara, Edifício Plaza 3, Bloco B 2W, 9125-170 Caniço, Madeira, email [email protected], WhatsApp +351925436122.
2. What IlhaGo is
IlhaGo is an online directory of experiences on Madeira (boat trips, walks, tours and other activities) offered by independent local businesses, the providers.
We do not organise, sell or run the experiences. Each experience is offered by the provider named on its page, who alone is responsible for it: licences, insurance, safety, price, schedule, cancellations and invoicing. The contract for the experience is made directly between the visitor and the provider.
3. Booking requests and payment
When you send a request, the app opens WhatsApp with a message to the provider giving the day, time and number of people. The booking is only confirmed when the provider confirms it.
We do not take payments. Payment is arranged and made directly with the provider. Prices are set by the provider and include VAT; the total shown in the app is an estimate based on them.
4. Publication, order and translations
We check each experience before publishing it, including the provider's registration with RNAAT (Portugal's national register of tourism activity operators) where it applies. This check is not a guarantee of the quality of the service.
Experiences are shown newest first, the same way for every provider. There are no paid placements.
Texts are translated from the provider's language with the help of machine translation. If in doubt, the original text prevails.
5. Cancellations and complaints
Each experience's cancellation policy is the one the provider states on its page. Cancellations and refunds are handled directly with the provider.
If something goes wrong, talk to the provider first. You can also contact us, and you can always use Portugal's official electronic complaints book (https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt/Inicio/).
For consumer disputes you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body; the list is on Portugal's Consumer Portal (www.consumidor.gov.pt).
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, IlhaGo is not responsible for how experiences are run, their quality or their safety, which are the providers' responsibility. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives consumers.
7. For providers
To list experiences you must be legally allowed to run them: registration with RNAAT or any other licence your activity requires, and the compulsory insurance (for example civil liability and personal accident).
You are responsible for everything you publish: accurate texts, prices (including VAT and all compulsory charges) and schedules, and photos you have the rights to. You allow IlhaGo to show, adapt and translate this content in the app and to promote it.
You must reply to visitors' requests promptly, honour the prices and cancellation policy you published, invoice your services and keep your own complaints book.
Listing is free during the launch. If a fee is ever introduced, you will be told at least 30 days in advance and can delete your account before any charge.
We may refuse, ask for changes to, hide or remove experiences, and suspend accounts that break these terms or the law. We always give the reason, in writing in your partner area or by message, unless the law prevents it.
To complain about a decision of ours, contact us ([email protected]). We reply within 15 working days.
You can delete your account and all your data at any time from your partner area. Changes to these terms are announced at least 15 days in advance.
8. Using the app and its content
The app is free for visitors. You may not send fake requests, use the app for anything unlawful, or copy its content by automated means.
The app's name, design and texts belong to IlhaGo; the texts and photos of each experience belong to its provider or their authors.
9. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, without affecting the mandatory consumer rights of your country. We may update these terms; the date of the latest version is shown at the top of the page.
